On Sunday, October 28th, a large number of successful Turkish-Americans surrounded Kemal Bozkurt and the Turkish Consul in Boston Ceylan Ozen Erisen on the occasion of the raising of the Turkish flag on the Campagnone Common.

Kemal Bozkurt, known as the unofficial “Turkish Ambassador” of Lawrence, welcomed those who gathered around him as well as the Consul.

Bozkurt took the opportunity to mention some successful Turkish-Americans, as well as their descendants, who have excelled in this country, including Dr. Oz, who has a popular television program entitled The Dr. Oz Show, where they discuss health and welfare concerns of the spectators.

Cedi Osman, born on April 8, 1995, a Turkish-Macedonian professional basketball player for the Cleveland Cavaliers of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He plays small forward position.

Hacibey Catalbasoglu, Councilor of New Haven, Connecticut, the youngest elected official in the history of the United States with only 18 years of age, finished Bozkurt full of justified pride.
