During the celebration of Earth Day, on Saturday, May 3, 2014, nearly 1,200 volunteers under the direction of GroundWork Lawrence (GWL) met to complete cleaning and beautification projects in Lawrence. In total, the volunteers were divided by 40 different
sites throughout the city.
As I write these lines, GroundWork is still collecting data that is why we don’t have total numbers of the work done, said Rosa Pina, event director.
