On Monday, August 22 members of Division 8, their families and friends along with Hibernians from across Massachusetts and New Hampshire celebrated at the Claddagh Restaurant and Pub in Lawrence, the election of Bill Sullivan as National Director of the Ancient Order of Hibernians (AOH). In addition to this event being an election victory celebration, it also served as a Thank You Party to those who had supported Sullivan in his bid for national office.
Among those in attendance were past and present AOH and LAOH National Officers, past and present State Officers of the AOH and LAOH, past and present AOH Essex County Officers, past and present AOH and LAOH Division Presidents and officers, along with numerous members of Division 8, their families and friends.
National Director Sullivan was elected at the AOH/LAOH National Convention in Atlantic City, New Jersey in mid July. Sullivan a 43 year member of Division 8 has served in various capacities on the Division, County, State and National levels. In addition to serving in his new capacity, he also serves as President of Division 8 AOH in Lawrence.
Since his election in July, National Director Sullivan has visited AOH Divisions in Maine and in Massachusetts. The next AOH/LAOH National Convention will be held in Louisville, Kentucky in July, 2018.
