On September 11, 2020, members of the Lawrence Fire Department gathered at the Fire Station (Ladder 4), located at 71 S. Broadway, remembered the victims of the cowardly suicide attack by Islamic extremists against the United States of America, which brought down the Twin Towers in New York City and part of the Pentagon in Washington, DC using four hijacked planes, leaving a trail of death and destruction behind.

Among the victims were 343 firefighters from the New York Fire Department, 2 paramedics from the New York Fire Department, 6 private ambulance workers, 23 officers from the New York Police Department and 37 from the Port Authority Police Department.

According to Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia, “There were 2,974 victims, not including the 19 hijackers: 246 in the four planes (none aboard the hijacked planes survived), 2,603 in New York City in the towers and on the ground, and 125 at the Pentagon.
