The Merrimack Valley Chamber’s Women in Business Series held a conference on October 28th, 2013 at Michael’s Function Hall, Haverhill. MVCC hosts quarterly Women in Business speaker series and the annual Women in Business Conference giving the opportunity to Women in Business to network, mentor, connect and learn from other Women in Business whether starting out or simply facing a question or problem.
At this event, featured speaker was U. S. Congresswoman Niki Tsongas. The rest of the panel was formed by Dianne Anderson, President/CEO Lawrence General Hospital. Her theme was Healthcare. Karen Andreas, Regional Publisher, North of Boston Media Group, spoke about communications while Andrea Luppi, Mgr. Communications and Community Relations, Columbia Gas of Massachusetts abounded on energy. Atty. Sara Golsmith Schwartz, President, Schwartz Hannum PC and Usha Chatterjee, Director of Development and Community Services, United Way of Mass. Bay and Merrimack Valley, expanded on Professional Services and Non Profits, respectively. Susan Leger Ferraro, president. Imajine That acted as moderator.
Anna Sullivan, was surprised by a welldeserved recognition by both the Chamber and Congresswoman Tsongas for the 50th anniversary of Sullivan Insurance. “After the passing of her husband, Mrs. Sullivan took control of the business. Not only had she developed the business into one of the best in the area, she produced two mayors for the City of Lawrence, Kevin J. and Michael J.,” said Joseph J. Bevilacqua, MVCC President/CEO calling her to the podium.
