State Representative Frank A. Moran (D-Lawrence, Andover and Methuen) has announced the awarding of YouthWorks 2019-2020 grants for the MassHire Merrimack Valley Workforce Board this week. These grants work to support a variety of youth training programs across the commonwealth, which offer short-term occupational skill building opportunities that can enhance job-seeking prospects for teens and young adults across the commonwealth. The funds will go to support the following initiatives:
$75,000 in grant funds will be used to support an automotive technology services training for 15 income-eligible opportunity youth
$15,000 in grant funds will be used to support the development of a career pathway program in information technology for 18-21 year old out-of-school youth
“Supporting the youth of our community as they strive to better themselves through new job training programs is an important part of overall community development. I am thrilled to welcome this funding into our community to benefit those looking to improve themselves and their opportunities in the job market. Thank you to Governor Baker, Lt. Governor Polito, and Secretary Acosta for prioritizing an organization in our district,” said Representative Moran.
