Dear Friends of Greater Lawrence Family Health Center:
We want to assure you that we are always here for our patients, their families and the communities we serve throughout this region. More importantly, as we ALL face this monumental pandemic, we must ensure that our frontline clinical staff and pharmacists are prepared for the health care needs of our patients throughout the Merrimack Valley.
Last week, GLFHC created the GLFHC COVID-19 Response Fund, to address the needs of the Health Center and the growing concern that our frontline health care staff and clinicians are at risk as they continue to fulfill the mission of GLFHC. Since then, many friends have provided philanthropic support to meet the critical needs of our workers as they focus on our patients in our collective fight against COVID-19.
Our doctors, Lawrence Family Medicine resident physicians, nurses, pharmacy staff, and other front-line employees are dealing with some of the most challenging health care issues they have ever seen. Although we have a fully functioning telehealth program for our patients, our Respiratory Illness Teams and physicians continue to see patients at our sites and at the local hospital. While serving on the frontlines during this unimaginable public health crisis every time they come to work, they also have to care for their own health and that of their children, spouses, partners and parents.
The GLFHC COVID-19 Response Fund will help meet the daily needs of these frontline health care workers and keep them safe as they continue to fulfill our Health Center’s mission. With close to 62,000 registered patients, we will continue to provide outstanding care on a daily basis while simultaneously saving as many lives as possible and doing our part to flatten the curve. But to do that we must keep our staff – our health care angels – healthy and safe; they are our most critical resource.
