• The elimination of employee stipends that were running rampant within city hall– this cost savings is in excess of $50,000 per year

• Mayor Lantigua has engaged the services of University of Massachusetts Center for Public Management to assist in the recruitment of a new Budget and Finance Director – a critical position to fill within the new administration and with the help of Mr. Stephen McGoldrick from UMASS – Lawrence will get the most qualified person for this key financial position.
• Mayor Lantigua has directed the Personnel and Benefits department to analyze cost and savings with the City of Lawrence joining the GIC or another similar Insurance Pool – which is a critical piece of this legislation and frankly critical component of Lawrence becoming whole again.
• Mayor Lantigua has instructed the Legal Department to schedule negotiation meetings with all 11 unions, as 10 of the 11 Union Contracts expire this June 30th.
• Mayor Lantigua sent $231,000 worth of property to the City Council for disposition last week
• Mayor Lantigua has also facilitated the long awaited deed signing of a former school building that will finally bring in $500K to the City Coffers within the next week. Deed signing scheduled for week of February 15th.
• Mayor Lantigua facilitated the reimbursement of $1,058,670, from the Massachusetts School Building Assistance Program. The prior administration never submitted the proper document and this money was in jeopardy. After one meeting with Mayor Lantigua and the proper documents filed under his leadership, a wire transfer was received.
