Veteran’s Day Breakfast Helps Another Veteran

Former Councilor Roger Twomey honors our veterans with a free pancake breakfast on Veterans’ Day in November.  The general public pays $5.00 and every year it is very well attended.

Since they had a balance of $500 in that account, Mr. and Mrs. Twomey decided to donate it to some worthy cause so they chose contributing to the cost of buying a home for another veteran.

Joseph Maldonado, a retired veteran who is having a home built by Habitat for Humanity on Phillips Street was chosen.  The money will help the family with the closing costs.

Volunteers from the pancake breakfast attended the presentation along with Mr. & Mrs. Twomey.  Chris Twomey (son), Keith Wlodyka, Katie Darwin, Patricia Riddle, Tom Corrigan, Linda Arvanitis, Maureen Imelkowski, Marilyn Mercier and Laura Alefantis.
