Radhames Nova joins the non-profit organization as President & CEO

Radhames Nova has been appointed by the Board of Directors of Junior Achievement of Northern New England (JANNE) to serve as President & CEO.

“The JANNE Board of Directors is thrilled to have Rad join our organization. His background in nonprofit organization leadership, fundraising, and program delivery in support of youth based missions is an ideal combination for the role of President and CEO. I believe that we can learn a lot from Rad, and that he will enjoy this opportunity that is in front of him – a role that he has been getting ready for throughout his career,” said Rick Tyson, Chair of the JANNE Board of Directors and Senior Private Client Advisor, Wealth Advisory Services with Wilmington Trust, N.A.

Prior to joining JANNE, Rad served as Senior Vice President of Strategic Partnerships for the Association of Latino Professionals For America (ALPFA), the largest Latino professional organization in the United States with over 72,000 members, where he was responsible for overseeing some of the organization’s largest national corporate partnerships and a pilot partnership between JA and ALPFA. He was the Executive Director of the ALPFA Boston Chapter from 2011 to 2015.

From 2002 to 2006 Rad served as Director of Development for the Boys & Girls Club of Lawrence, Massachusetts, raising $1.8M annually for operations and leading the organization to a record breaking $8.5M capital campaign to build a new facility. Prior to that, he served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in South Africa. Beyond the nonprofit sector, Rad has held positions in the financial services industry – notably the Fidelity Charitable Gift Fund and SCS Financial. After five years working in the investments industry, Rad returned to his mission-driven career when he joined ALPFA in 2011.

“I am honored and humbled to join JA of Northern New England as President & CEO. My personal journey moving from Dominican Republic to Lawrence Massachusetts as a teenager was deeply impacted by the love and support I received from caring adults invested in my success through youth organizations. It is a privilege to pay it forward by helping thousands of youth have the same opportunities to succeed through JA’s programs.

“JA’s mission is critical to the success of our region and our country. According to the first-ever S&P Global FinLit Survey, only 57% of adults in the U.S. are financially literate. This means that 43% of our population – and an even higher percentage of women and diverse communities – do not fully participate in our economy. Preparing our youth to enter the workforce in the future and to become the next wave of entrepreneurs is equally important to the future success of our country.

“I look forward to working with our staff, Board of Directors and community partners to make available our mission to inspire and prepare young people to succeed in a global economy to as many youth as possible.”said Radhames Nova.

Rad obtained his B.A. from Middlebury College and his MBA from Boston University. Born in the Dominican Republic, he immigrated to the United States 27 years ago and currently lives in Salem New Hampshire with his wife Alexandra and their three children.
