The Ministry of Culture of the Dominican Republic, announced this June 20, the winners of the Annual Literature Awards for the year 2017.
Writer César Sánchez Beras, a professor of Spanish at Lawrence High School and a resident of Lawrence Massachusetts, won the Annual Theater Award with the play “Two Tragic Pieces” in a jury composed of: Claudio Rivera, Dioni Rufino and Carlos Rojas.
In other awards, the playwright Giovanni Cruz, won the Annual Story Award, with the book “Codices in the courtesies of my books”, by the verdict of the judges: Fernando Berroa, Manuel Llibre and Nan Chevalier.
The Annual Essay Award was awarded to the book, “Institutional Evaluation of the UASD 1538-2016, an academic model in decline” by Faustino Collado and the poet Daniel Baruc Espinal, won the Annual Poetry Prize, with a book “Ants inside a drop of amber”.
