In Pink Brunch & Comedy Show raises more than $90,000 for women’s health

Congresswoman Niki Tsongas’ district director June Black honored with award at event

On Saturday, Oct. 27 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Greater Lawrence Family Health Center’s 9th Annual In Pink Brunch & Comedy Show raised more than $90,000 to support the organization’s initiatives in women’s health. This year, stress consultant, motivational speaker and comedian Loretta LaRoche delivered a routine exploring ways people can all laugh a little more – especially at themselves – during these stressful times. Meanwhile, GLFHC raised funds through a text-to-give campaign, a silent and live auction, and the sale of raffle tickets and mystery boxes.

June Black, Congresswoman Niki Tsongas’ district director, was recognized with the health center’s Rosalyn Kempton Wood Award during the event. In giving her the award, the organization referred to her as “a champion of constituent concerns and a master problem solver who gets things done in Greater Lawrence, and a two-time breast cancer survivor who holds women’s health causes near and dear to her heart.” Afterward, she received heartfelt congratulations at the podium from Tsongas, Lawrence Mayor Dan Rivera, and State Representative Diana DiZoglio.
