We do not know about you, but it seems that the last midterm elections have been as hectic as in previous years. In the past, there were only Democrats against Republicans. Although these two parties are the largest, with more supporters, we now have at least eight, if not more, and all with candidates to choose from.
In addition, many say the result of the last elections was a referendum for the president and the party that controlled both houses since 2014. With the loss of the House of Representatives, Republicans are left with only the Senate and we do not know how many senators support President Trump in this chamber. What we do know is that we have at least two years of constant battle, with those who cannot stand the CEO attitude of our president, similar to the situation we have with our CEO/Mayor who suffers from the same self-esteem.
Let’s leave our luck to chance, and for candidates who were not elected, we salute them and express our gratitude for having the courage to run. We congratulate the candidates who were elected or re-elected, regardless of their affiliation, and we hope they have the wisdom to work together to solve the serious problems we face throughout the country: health care and the high cost of maintaining it, immigration reform and border security and some other that you think about and we forgot to mention.
Hopefully, our overall situation will improve as national problems are addressed. From our local delegation, we should expect the same result as at the national level, from working together to help our city find a way to become self-sufficient.
