This annual program, in partnership with state legislators, aims to honor and celebrate women who have made outstanding contributions to their organizations and communities. These remarkable women have demonstrated extraordinary acts of service, often going unnoticed by the media, but making a significant difference in their respective communities.

Each year, legislators from across the state are invited to nominate one woman from their constituency, recognizing the invaluable efforts and achievements of these unsung heroes. The selection process seeks to highlight the remarkable impact that these women have had in various fields and their dedication to improving the lives of others.

This year, State Representative Frank A. “Shawna has gone above and beyond to ensure that our seniors are being provided with every accommodation possible to allow them to live a fulfilling independent lives,” said Representative Moran. “I am incredibly grateful to know that we have such dedicated individuals working within our community to provide for our neighbors and to ensure that they are well cared for during the good times and the bad.”

“It was such an honor to nominate Shawna who has been diligently serving Andover seniors for over 20 years,” said State Representative Tram T. Nguyen (D – Andover). “She fully deserves the Commonwealth Heroine award as someone who doesn’t make the news but makes a great difference in our community.”
