On Saturday, March 10th of this year, the Irish of the area carried out their announced Parade dedicated to St. Patrick.
The Parade is one of many activities planned in advance by the organizers of the celebration of the Irish Heritage Month activities, and the one that it may require more work to organize. Since it’s held outdoors, you have to depend on the weather and It is not the first time that it has to be carried out under a snowfall and others, it has had to be canceled completely.
There is no doubt that this year the luck of the Irish was on the side of the organizers if we consider that in the last three weeks we have had winter storms, which if they have not set records, have left traces to remember them by. Well, at least the one that is lashing at us at the moment we write these lines, has not yet finished so we do not know the result. We can only remember the previous one that left us two days without electricity.
. The St. Patrick’s Parade is a very important part of the heritage of this city that has become part of everyone’s life in Lawrence, regardless of their nationality.
Thank you, members of Division 8 AOH, for keeping it alive!
