Editorial: Let’s look for peace

This is the season when we traditionally find love and love of all those around us. The lights and Christmas carols are a huge influence in our state of mind; the lighting on Campagnone Common and Hispanic Week’s activities were a timely addition and something and that was badly needed.

This has been a difficult year for the entire country given the political situation in which we find ourselves and in particular, for Lawrence residents who have suffered and continue to suffer as a result of gas explosions last year.

We do not know if they are ideas, but seems to us that there are gas leaks almost daily, both locally and in other states and cities, so we worry more than before, perhaps unnecessarily.

If those of us that do not use gas are concerned about that situation, we can only imagine how those who have gas in their home feel about it.

Seems so strange wishing Merry Christmas to others because we don’t know what they have inside. Maybe we hear it with irony. The reality is one: we have to seek peace within ourselves before trying to spread it.

Let us thank God for having health and love within our homes and that will be the beginning to wish others what you already found.
